Fibble

Liar Wordle. Exactly one hint in each row is a lie!

Fibble — The Wordle Where One Clue in Every Row Is a Lie

Welcome to Fibble, the ultimate test of logic and trust in word puzzle gaming. Often called Liar Wordle, Fibble takes the classic wordle-style mechanics and injects a deceptive twist: exactly one color hint in every single row is a lie. If you rely blindly on color clues, Fibble will quickly lead you down a path of frustration and defeat.

How to Play Fibble

Enter a valid five-letter guess and press Enter. The game will color the tiles to show green (correct letter in the correct position), yellow (correct letter in a different position), and gray (letter not in the word). However, exactly one letter hint per row will be false. For example, a letter that is actually in the word might be shown as gray, or a letter that isn't in the word might display as yellow or green. You get nine attempts to deduce the secret word.

Fibble vs Regular Wordle — What the Lie Changes

One False Hint Per Row — Every Single Row

In standard Wordle, every clue is 100% accurate. In Fibble, the system chooses one tile at random in every row and gives it a false color representation.

How to Spot Which Clue Is the Lie

Because a lie is guaranteed, you cannot immediately take any green or yellow at face value. You must evaluate how the hints across multiple guesses overlap or contradict each other.

Fibble Strategy — How to Win When You Cannot Trust the Hints

Cross-Reference Clues Across Multiple Rows

Look for contradictions. If row 1 says 'A' is gray (absent), but row 2 shows 'A' in the same position as green (correct), one of these clues is lying. By comparing multiple rows, you can identify which row contains which lie.

Find Consistent Letters to Identify the Lie

Focus on letters that appear in multiple guesses. If a letter behaves consistently across multiple guesses, its hints are likely true, pointing you toward the one false hint in that row.

Use Process of Elimination Differently

Assume a green or yellow is a lie and see if it leads to a valid English word. If a guess path results in impossible letter combinations, you know the assumed lie was actually true, narrowing down the real secret word.

What Is a Good Fibble Score?

Since you get 9 guesses in Fibble, solving the puzzle within fewer than 6 attempts is a sign of exceptional deductive reasoning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fibble?

Fibble is a Wordle variant (known as Liar Wordle) where exactly one color hint in every row is false, meaning it lies about the letter's presence or position.

How is Fibble different from Wordle?

In classic Wordle, all feedback hints are correct. In Fibble, the game purposefully lies on exactly one tile in each row.

Yes. Every row has exactly one lying tile, selected at random. The other four clues are completely accurate.

How do you figure out which clue is false in Fibble?
